Vital Brain Booster Review Summary
Thee’s some good and some bad with this natural nootropic. It contains some superb ingredients that have been dosed very well (although one is a whole plant extract). They will help improve memory function and support brain health over the long-term. Yet it is also missing some absolutely vital components of a daily nootropic stack. The formula also uses a very poor quality, potentially side-effect prone cholinergic.
Overall, we think this isn’t a terrible memory supplement. But if you’re looking for a full spectrum nootropic, this isn’t it. Short-term focus will be left unaffected, as will long-term brain development. Side effect risks relatively higher here too. Vital Brain Booster certainly can’t compete with the best nootropics on the market today.
Where To Buy Vital Brain Booster
Vital Brain Booster seems to be available exclusively through Amazon.
Full Vital Brain Booster Review
Vital Brain Booster is a natural nootropic supplement currently getting serious attention online. It is currently one of the most popular nootropics on sale on Amazon. We don’t believe they have an independent website – they aren’t to be confused with the other supplement company called Vital!
But they do have quite an extensive range of products on offer on their Amazon store. They have an anti-anxiety stack, an apple cider vinegar supplement, and a wide range of vitamins. Of course, they also have a complete nootropic stack: Vital Brain Booster.
So what is this stack all about then?
What is it designed to do? Who is it supposed to help?
If we look at the bottle, we see that this stack is designed to enhance multiple aspects of cognitive function – “memory”, “focus”, and “clarity”.
On merchant page we get a little more detail on what users can expect from Vital Brain Booster:
- Increased concentration span
- Enhanced focus
- Increase in mental energy without crash
- No side effects
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Overall improved cognitive function
Sounds good to us.
This is exactly the sort of stuff we look to get from a comprehensive nootropic supplement.
But lots of products claim to give us all of these things. Few deliver.
Does Vital Brain Booster really work?
Will it cause any worrying side effects?
Is it good value for money? How does it compare to the best brain supplements on the market today?
Find out by reading our detailed review below. We begin by examining the formula itself. We look at the ingredients and see if their inclusion is backed by the latest scientific literature. We make sure the doses are up to scratch too. Finally, we look at the likely side effects. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments section at the end.
Vital Brain Booster Formula
Here is the product’s formula as it should appear on the bottle. We took this from the Amazon store run by Vital Vitamins:
We can see that this really is a formula of two parts – some good, some bad.
It contains some very good ingredients known to significantly improve certain aspects of cognitive function. The doses are good in places too; very good in fact.
But Vital Brain Booster also uses a terrible cholinergic.
It is missing some key components of a comprehensive, full spectrum, daily nootropic.
Overall, we don’t think we’d recommend this product to anybody. It definitely doesn’t rank as one of the best nootropics on the market right now.
What We Like
As we said, there’s a lot that we DO like about this stack. In fact, there are some things that we like an awful lot.
Take the big dose of Bacopa monnieri for example.
Bacopa monnieri is without question one of the most powerful natural memory enhancers. It has been shown to improve memory test scores in both healthy adults and in people suffering with various age-related memory disorders.
Each serving of Vital Brain Booster gives us 300mg of bacopa monnieri. This is a lot more than you will get in the majority of natural nootropics on the market.
That said, the Bacopa monnieri in this stack is a whole plant powder. That means that we are getting an awful lot of plant material from that 300mg. Only a small fraction will be useful, memory-enhancing bacosides.
So some stacks will provide less raw material, but they will be potent extracts giving you a lot more bang for your buck. This is ALWAYS preferable to a whole plant extract – if we can get away with taking less actual material, we will.
Despite the problems with using a whole plant extract, the 300mg per serving remains good enough to give you serious results.
We also get a great helping of rhodiola rosea in Vital Brain Booster.
Rhodiola rosea is our favorite anxiolytic. In our experience, nothing reduces stress and anxiety in such a subtle, lasting, sustainable way.
The 50mg in Vital Brain Booster is enough to give you good returns. Without Tyrosine or another anxiolytic though, we would happily see more rhodiola in here.
What We Don’t Like
Despite the benefits listed above, we don’t think this constitutes a very good choice for anyone’s daily nootropic stack.
The main reason for that is the terrible choice of cholinergic.
As we’ve said time and again, any stack that wants to be truly ‘full-spectrum’ needs to provide an effective ingredient to help with short-term focus and learning.
Cholinergics are the best option here. These are substances which increase acetylcholine availability in the brain. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter involved in numerous mental processes, from memory formation to muscle contraction. It is like the brain’s information processing currency in a way.
Acutely raising acetylcholine availability is the best way to see immediate increases in raw brain power.
But Vital Brain Booster really lets us down here.
Instead of giving us a nice, big serving of CDP-Choline or Alpha-GPC, we’re palmed off with a standard dose of DMAE.
Now, many people really like DMAE. It works well for them and doesn’t cause any issues. But for other people, DMAE does absolutely nothing. A sizable minority of people actually report getting bad side effects from DMAE.
It is unreliable.
Even when it works, it doesn’t seem to have the same kind of effects as more potent cholinergics.
It doesn’t have the same secondary benefits associated with CDP-Choline use (e.g cell membrane formation support).
To top it all off, it gives many users side effects.
With so few ingredients, Vital Brain Booster really needs to stick to the best of the best. It hasn’t as far as we’re concerned.
Vital Brain Booster Side Effects
While natural nootropics will almost always be a safer bet than synthetic brain drugs like Modafinil or Piracetam, we sometimes find stacks that have a relatively higher risk of causing side effects than others.
Sadly, we think Vital Brain Booster is a little more likely to cause side effects than its peers.
The main culprit is obviously the DMAE.
As mentioned briefly above, DMAE is known to cause side effects in a small but significant minority of users. These side effects include:
- Lack of focus
- Loss of motivation
For a little more of a personal feel, check out this LongeCity thread where DMAE users hare their negative experiences. It is eye opening.
A much milder yet still notable side effect concern is the Bacopa monnieri whole plant powder.
The reason we like to use a potent, concentrated, standardized extracts over whole plant powders is because we don’t like taking more raw material than we absolutely have to. But with Bacopa this concern is a little more serious.
Large servings of whole Bacopa plant material has been known to cause some digestive discomfort.
Some people report feeling a little bloated. Others report mild stomach discomfort.
These side effects are rare but they do happen. As such, we recommend using a potent Bacopa monnieri extract in doses nit exceeding 250mg per day.
We are not doctors. This is not medical advice. All we try to do is highlight the most obvious side effect risks based on our experience and the available scientific literature (and to some degree user reports). This is not exhaustive and it is not advice tailored to you. You have your own individual circumstances you need to consider. Just because a stack looks safe to us does not mean it is 100% safe FOR YOU! Your allergies, pre-existing conditions, and risk factors have a big influence on how safe a substance is! Do your own research and talk to a doctor before continuing.

Vital Brain Booster Review Conclusion – Worth Buying?
The answer to that question is, we regret to say, “probably not”.
Vital Brain Booster delivers some of the best natural brain function boosters in the world.
Yet when we delve a little deeper, we see that they are all hampered in one way or another.
The big dose of Bacopa monnieri turns out to be a whole plant extract. We have no idea what we’re getting int he way of Bacosides.
It uses the worst possible cholinergic in our opinion. DMAE may not even work, so the elevated risk of side effects just seems totally unjustifiable to us.
It is missing many key aspects of a truly full-spectrum nootropic.
Perhaps this would have been a viable stack 5 years ago. Today it is not competitive. The big boys have really left products like this behind. Vital Brain Booster offers neither top value for money nor good end results.
