Brainstorm Review Summary
There’s absolutely no reason why any one should use Nature’s Answer Brainstorm. The formula contains some useless ingredients that are obviously only there as fillers. The fact that we don’t know how much of these ingredients we get per serving just confirms our suspicions; there’s absolutely no need for anybody to use a proprietary blend these days, so when they do we think they’re clearly trying to hide a bad formula. Formula theft or copying just doesn’t happen, so there’s no legitimate need for anybody to hide their serving sizes.
For all we know, 90% or more of the Brainstorm formula could be rosemary. Rosemary has no nootropic properties. None. If it isn’t being used to bulk out the formula, then we have no idea what it’s doing here at all. It isn’t the only probable filler in here either. We think it’s highly likely that a large proportion of the Brainstorm formula is useless junk. On top of that, the Ginkgo Biloba is just listed as “whole leaf”, and Nature’s Answer have used whole periwinkle rather than purified Vinpocetine. All-in-all, a pretty poor nootropic. The liquid delivery is just a gimmick.
Where To Buy Brainstorm
Nature’s Answer have an independent online store that looks pretty reputable.
Full Brainstorm Review
Brainstorm is a natural nootropic supplement made by Nature’s Answer. These guys aren’t very well-known yet, but they have been around for some time – over 40 years in fact. Their range is extensive, covering most aspects of general health and wellness: they offer sleep aids, detox stacks, and a wide array of standalone herbal extracts, minerals, and vitamins. Clearly they’re not a fly-by-night outfit; they’re a serious brand who plan to be around for the years to come.
So what is Brainstorm all about?
What is it supposed to do?
The bottle doesn’t tell us a great deal here. All it says is that Brainstorm is a “combination extract”. However, the Nature’s Answer website gives us a lot more detail about what users can expect from this stack:
- Supports overall brain health
- Enhanced focus
- Greater concentration
Brainstorm is clearly supposed to be an all-in-one nootropic, designed to enhance multiple different aspects of cognitive function. It isn’t a complete brain booster; it doesn’t claim to promote neuroplasticity or long-term brain development. There’s also no mention of memory.
But Nature’s Answer obviously haven’t made a single-purpose supplement here. This is supposed to deliver holistic benefits, which in our opinion is the best way to approach cognitive enhancement.
All of this, however, is just cheap talk. It’s easy to make these claims, but it’s a lot harder to deliver on them.
Does Brainstorm really work?
How does it compare to other supplements that claim to do the same things?
Is Brainstorm safe? What are the side effects going to be?

Brainstorm Formula
Let’s get straight into it. Here is the Nature’s Answer Brainstorm formula:
That is an absolutely awful formula as far as we’re concerned.
We detest proprietary blends (where the manufacturer hides the serving sizes and only gives you a total blend size). There’s no need for them at all. Nobody steals another manufacturer’s formula. All of the most successful, popular nootropics on sale today show their formulas in full on the packaging. If they can do it, so can everyone.
But Brainstorm’s proprietary blend is particularly poor.
It contains some ingredients that have absolutely no nootropic properties. We think it is highly likely that these ingredients were included purely as ‘fillers’. They certainly don’t enhance cognition, so we don’t see why else they would be present.
The quality of the ingredients is also highly questionable. There’s a lot of “whole herb” going on; none of the key ingredients are present as potent extracts.
On pretty much every front, Nature’s Answer Brainstorm seriously disappoints. Here are the main reasons why.
Obvious Fillers
As stated above, we hate proprietary blends of any kind. We think they are to be avoided completely, regardless of their composition. There’s no good reason to use them, so when manufacturers do use them, it’s almost definitely for an underhanded reason.
Either that or they’re completely naive and don’t deserve our money.
But the Brainstorm proprietary blend has some specific problems which make it particularly bad.
The main problem is the fact that it contains obvious ‘filler’ ingredients.
A ‘filler’ ingredient is a substance used to bulk out a formula. Manufacturers sometimes use them to keep costs down.
You simply take a substance that is cheap to buy in large quantities, is relatively benign, and is readily available. You use this to make up 90% or more of the formula, thereby allowing you to cut right down on the more expensive ingredients.
A proprietary blend allows you to do this without letting potential customers know. All they see is the ingredients list.
We think this is actually the main reason why manufacturers use proprietary blends; they want to keep costs to a minimum without telling you guys!
Sadly, we see some obvious filler ingredients in Brainstorm.
The main suspect is Rosemary.
Rosemary has no cognitive enhancing properties whatsoever.
None.
It is thought by some to have some general benefits for health and longevity. But we see no reason to believe that it can improve any aspect of mental performance. There isn’t a single study out there showing rosemary supplementation having a meaningful, positive effect on memory, focus, clarity, or mental energy.
So why on earth is it in a nootropic like Brainstorm?!
We think the answer is pretty obvious.
Rosemary is extremely cheap to buy in large quantities.
It is well tolerated; people can take it in big doses and not experience any side effects.
It is readily available too, so you can easily get hold of it when you’re making another batch of your formula.
So rosemary is a perfect ‘filler’. It certainly isn’t here because it is a potent cognitive enhancer. We aren’t certain that it’s taking up the bulk of the formula of course, but the fact that Nature’s Answer have decided to hide the truth from us makes us deeply suspicious.

Brainstorm Side Effects – Is It Safe?
The one major upside of this supplement is the side effects – we think it’s highly unlikely that anybody will experience any side effects from Brainstorm.
The ingredients are all present in their whole plant form; there’s no really potent extracts in here to worry about. They’re all widely-used, well-understood substances too. As far as we know, all of these substances have been thoroughly studied in clinical trials. They are thought to be generally safe for long-term human supplementation.
The worst thing about Brainstorm is the lack of potency, but that also means serious adverse effects are going to be rare.
The only ingredient in Brainstorm that we think you need to be genuinely worried about is Ginkgo Biloba.
As we explain in this article, Ginkgo biloba is one of the best natural nootropics in the world. It is extremely effective and usually well tolerated. Side effects are generally rare.
However, since Ginkgo works by triggering vasodilation, it is not suitable for people who are at a high risk of having a stroke, aneurysm, heart attack, or anything else related to blood flow.
If you think it’s possible that Ginkgo might affect you badly, you should talk to your doctor before using it, even for short periods.
You need to know the following facts while reading our reviews: We can’t give exhaustive or tailored health advice. All we can do is point out the most obvious and biggest health risks for the average user. Your own circumstances are highly relevant when considering safety. You MUST talk to your doctor before you use any natural nootropics, no matter how safe they might appear.Caution
Brainstorm Review Conclusion – Is It Worth A Go?
No; simple as that.
Brainstorm is a low quality natural nootropic that – even at such a low price – would be a total rip-off.
For starters, Nature’s Answer haven’t given us any dosing information. All we have is a proprietary blend and a total serving size for all ingredients. That is completely unacceptable.
The blend also contains obvious filler ingredients such as rosemary.
Even the good ingredients are of questionable quality. There’s just whole plants, no pure, refined extracts.
All things considered, this is a pretty awful supplement.
If you want to see a genuine increase in focus, improved brain health, and enhanced cognition overall, you are much better off spending a little more money and getting a potent, proven, effective nootropic in return!
We have reviewed hundreds of nootropics and this supplement is still the most impressive. Our review team used this product for months and all experienced:
- Heightened focus
- Enhanced memory function
- More mental energy
- Better mental performance under stress
