Review Summary
This is a solid vision enhancer from Natural Stacks. It is a simple, straightforward formula containing great ingredients at excellent doses. There’s no useless filler, and one of the ingredients – Sea Buckthorn Oil – is really unique among vision aids. Anyone looking to support proper eye function and good eye health for the long-term will get good results from Eye Defense.
The only things we’d change would be to include some other ingredients and diversify the formula a little. It is extremely focused as a vision enhancer, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but some more ingredients would make it more effective.
Where To Buy Eye Defense
Eye Defense is available for purchase on the Natural Stacks official website. Buying direct is always preferable – you’ll probably get some good deals too.
Detailed Eye Defense Review
Eye Defense is a brand new vision enhancer from Natural Stacks. Some of you will already be familiar with these guys – they’re producers of some of the most popular supplements on the market today, like CILTEP. They now have an extensive range of products covering multiple aspecs of human health and performance. They sell everything from a whey protein powder to an immune system support stack.
So what is Eye Defense supposed to do?
Who is it designed to benefit exactly?
As the bottle tells us, this stack is designed first and foremost to provide “blue light protection”. In today’s world, where we spend every waking moment staring at screens, this is a major benefit. Blue light is very high energy (with a shorter wavelength). This means it causes small amounts of damage to the eye.
Protecting yourself from blue light is possible through both behavior and supplementation.
The Natural Stacks website gives us a little more detail. Users are told to expect the following benefits:
- Reduced glare sensitivity
- Improved visual acuity
- Reduced eye strain
- Prevents eye dryness
- Reduced eye fatigue
That’s a great range of benefits. These are all problems that many people struggle with. If you’re a software engineer, a copywriter, architect, or anyone else who spends long hours focusing intently on a screen, then you probably deal with all of these problems on a regular – if not daily – basis.
So if Eye Defense can do all of these things, it will be an incredibly useful supplement to have in your arsenal.
The question is, does it really work?
Can it really support eye function while reducing fatigue, dryness, and strain?
Are there any side effects you should be worried about? Is Eye Defense safe?
How does it compare to similar products on the market right now?
Find out by reading our full review below. As always, we’ll begin with an in-depth look at the formula. We’ll see what the latest scientific studies have to say about the ingredients and doses used here. We’ll see if Eye Defnese is safe, or if it is likely to cause you side effects. In the end, we’ll give you our final verdict – would we use this stack? Let’s get to it!
Formula Analysis
Let’s take a look at the Eye Defense formula:
That is a really great looking formula.
It is straightforward, simple, and concise.
We can’t see any fillers or pointless ingredients whatsoever.
All we see are effective, proven, and interesting ingredients.
There are ways it could be improved – no doubt about that. But on the whole, we think people will benefit from this stack a lot.
Main Strengths
- Good ingredient combination
- Excellent doses
The Natural Stacks Eye Defense formula is absolutely brilliant, both in terms of the ingredients used and the doses.
For instance, each serving gives us 20mg of Lutein.
Lutein is a phenomenal natural vision enhancer. It works by fortifying the macular pigment your eye. The macula is the part of the eye responsible for producing sharp, accurate, detailed vision.
The macula lutea – a small region of the macula – is very dense with cones. These are light-sensitive structures which are a large part of why the macula is able to produce such detailed central vision.
On top of that, the macula also acts as a kind of “internal filter”. Another way to think of the macula is a pair of “internal sunglasses”. Basically, the macula filters out much of the harmful, high-energy blue light that enters the eye from the sun and from digital screens. Ensuring that the macula pigment is robust is a good way to protect the eye from blue light damage.
It’s a good job, then, that lutein supplementation strengthens the macula region of the eye, ensuring that it can do all of these jobs perfectly.
Lutein makes up a large proportion of the macula pigment, which is why lutein supplementation has been shown to so effectively improve low-light vision, protect against macular degeneration, and even improve eye sight in people with acute macular degeneration.
The 20mg of Lutein we get in each serving is plenty. Good benefits have been observed with just 10mg per day. With few side effect risks and no diminishing returns, 20mg is undoubtedly better.

Main Weaknesses
- Low Vitamin A dose
- Could use some more ingredients
- No Bilberry or Blackcurrant
- Missing studies – incomplete citations
This is a very good formula on the whole.
The only real negative we can point out – if it can be called a negative – is the fact that Natural Stacks could have used another few ingredients and made the formula much more comprehensive.
For instance, there isn’t any source of anthocyanins.
Anthocyanins are a group pf compounds known to significantly and rapidly improve contrast sensitivity, ocular blood vessel health, and enhance overall visual function.
Most natural vision enhancers today will have a substantial anthocyanin content – be it from Bilberry Fruit Extract, Blackcurrant Extract, or somewhere else.
We are really not sure if Sea Buckthorn contains any anthocyanins at all. The Natural Stacks website doesn’t mention it, so it stands to reason that the extract used in Eye Defense doesn’t contain any (even if the plant itself does).
A vision enhancer lacking any substantial anthocyanin content is, in our opinion, missing something important.
There are quite a few ingredients that we think would make Eye Defense better.
There’s no zinc.
There’s no saffron.
There’s no potent antioxidant.
There’s not much Vitamin A.
While this doesn’t make the stack bad, it does mean that it could, in theory, be better.
One final thing we think we should point out about this vision enhancer is the lack of readily-available evidence.
It seems that some of the studies cited on the official Natural Stacks Eye Defense website are no longer available online.
For example, the study cited pertaining to Sea Buckthorn Oil doesn’t seem to exist. We searched for it online, but it only appears to show up on the Natural Stacks website.
Until this is cleared up, we’re forced to conclude that Sea Buckthorn Oil lacks any robust clinical evidence.
Side Effects – Is It Safe?
Like most natural vision enhancers, Eye Defense looks very safe.
With the apparent exception of Sea Buckthorn Oil, all of the ingredients have been thoroughly tested in clinical trials and have been found to be generally safe.
They are widely used in vision aids today and they do not seem to cause many side effects whatsoever.
When they do occur, side effects are usually rare.
Even the low Vitamin A dose is a good thing from a side effects perspective. it is possible to have an acute Vitamin A overdose, so the fact that Eye Defense takes it easy on this stuff is almost a positive.
That said, it is important to remember that we aren’t medical professionals, and we have no idea about your particular state of health, your medical history, and so on.
All we can do is highlight the most obvious dangers as we see them!

Final Verdict – Natural Stacks Eye Defense – Should You Buy It?
All in all this looks like a high quality natural vision enhancer.
Anyone looking to improve their visual acuity, help with glare sensitivity, and protect their eye health going forward would no doubt be happy with the results they get from this stack.
But Eye Defense could undoubtedly be a better, stronger, more comprehensive supplement at the same time.
That is really splitting hairs though. It may not be the best vision enhancer in the world, but it is definitely one of them. A solid supplement that many people will benefit from. Much better than Natural Stacks’ attempt at a nootropic anyway!
